Cleveland University-Kansas City was my first eye-opening experience into how natural healthcare can change a person’s life. Growing up with autoimmunity, the medical world never gave much hope beyond medication to control symptoms. I learned at CUKC (CCC at the time) that there are natural options to reverse and prevent ongoing damage to the body. This has allowed me to function at my optimum health and feel better in my 40s than I did in my teens and 20s.
Very early on in practice, I was able to recognize an Arnold-Chiari malformation and syrinx that had been written off as growing pains. All thanks to the education and support provided by the imaging department at CUKC. After 20 years of practice, there are so many stories, but some of the early ones when you are first building confidence can be the most memorable.
I am fortunate to have the opportunity every day as a doctor, and as an instructor, to teach people how to make changes in their daily habits that will improve their lives for years to come. One of my greatest joys is to have new doctors tell me their patient success stories. I plan to continue to teach students and patients about how they have control over their own health, and give them the confidence to change their own lives.
